Officer Cindy Smith |

 Hired on LVMPD September 2002 and recently joined the Mounted Unit January 2007. Officer Smith rides Pursuit most of the time and has also ridden Buster. She has worked a majority of her time on Patrol on the the graveyard shift at NWAC and comes to us after a short stint at the Airport.
Cindy's favorite thing about being a Mounted Officer is combining two of her life's joys: being a Police Officer and riding horses. Being a member of the Mounted Unit has allowed her to enjoy another aspect of patrolling the streets of Las Vegas while supporting her fellow officers and teammates.

Officer Dan Southwell |

 Hired on the Police Department in 1987, Officer Dan Southwell has worked various assignments including the Detective Bureau, the Gang Unit, Patrol, Fatal Detail, the Resident Section in Laughlin, NV during which time he helped to start a K-9 program for that area. Officer Southwell also has been a Field Training Officer. We are pleased to have an Officer of his experience and stature in the Mounted Unit. Officer Southwell has been assigned "Hobo and Gunsmoke" as his primary horses.

Officer Kelly Korb |

 Hired on LVMPD in July of 1988 and joined the Mounted Unit in July of 1998. Officer Korb has ridden Nokona since 1998. Her past assignments include working in the jail as a Corrections Officer, Patrol in Downtown Area Command, Problem Solving Unit in Northeast Area Command, Bike Patrol and Community Oriented Policing.Kelly's favorite thing about working in the Mounted Unit is working with a 1200 pound partner.

Officer Matt Burris |

 Hired on LVMPD in August of 1998. Joined the Mounted Unit February of 2004. Officer Burris has enjoyed the majority of his career in Patrol and is currently our Defensive Tactics expert. Officer Burris primarily rides "Buckshot", one of our Mustangs.

Officer Mike McNamee |

 Officer Mike McNamee has been with the LVMPD since 2000 and also has prior experience as a Police Officer in Montana. This is Officer McNamee's second tour of duty in the Mounted Unit and has been involved in several other details including Patrol, Bike Patrol and Community Oriented Policing.

Officer Tim Ruiz |

 Hired by the Police Department in September of 2002, he has primarily worked Patrol along with the added responsibility of being a Field Training Officer. Officer Ruiz primarily rides "Buster".

Sgt Toby Tobiasson |
|
 Sgt Toby Tobiasson has been with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department since 1989. He has worked in Patrol, Bike Patrol, Detective Bureau, Gang Unit, Community Oriented Policing and the Problem Solving Unit. The Mounted Unit is lucky to have such a diversely experienced supervisor and rider. Sgt. Tobiasson has been involved with the Mounted Unit as a part-time rider since 1998.
